GPMI CALLS FOR PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR MILITARY TO TACKLE INSECURITY
Global Peace Movement International, (GPMI) United Kingdom has called on political leaders, retired military veterans, civil society organisations, religious leaders, traditional leaders, the media and other critical stakeholders to lend their support to the military towards tackling the various threats posed by criminal elements, their sponsors and collaborators.
He stated that ending acts of terrorism and banditry does not rest on the shoulders of the army alone, rather every stakeholder has a role in ensuring that it defeats terrorism, banditry and other acts of criminalities in the country.
In a press statement issued to the media, the president general GPMI Dr Mike Uyi stated that Nigerians should as a matter of urgency rally support for the army to end the scourge of insecurity in the country.
He said that the directive given by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya to combat trainee of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) to confront terrorists and insurgents is a commendable statement of hope that requires the concerns of all Nigerians.
