President Muhammadu Buhari has said that it is important to improve on  production and consumption of food produced in the country. Speaking in a meeting with elected local government council chairmen in Katsina, he said that he is delighted that the agricultural policies of his government is working to good effect. He lauded farmers for the track record of production of rice and other commodities stressing that it is important that "we must grow what we eat and eat what we grow"  He stated that the closure of border to foreign rice along with other agro production policies put together should be allowed to enhance massive production and consumption of home made rice and other commodities. President Buhari maintained that the implementation of Treasury Single Account (TSA) helped his government to handle corrupt government officials and prevented investable money from finding its way into numerous mysterious government accounts.
