He said it yesterday at the state house when he hosted the Secretary-General of the International Seabed Authority, Mr Michael Lodge, who attended a workshop on Africa deep sea resources in Abuja.
According to a statement by Mr Femi Adesina the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, the president said resources would be deployed, and studies done, believing it would be worth the while.
He also applauded the Nigerian Navy for its role in protecting the country’s maritime domain, urging it to “continue to guard us jealously.”
On his part, Mr Lodge thanked Nigeria for hosting the workshop and the leadership it provides on the African continent.
He encouraged Nigeria to explore its deep seabed resources to support the blue economy and pledged his solidarity during his administration as the secretary-general.
